The character first appeared in "Pratishodh Ki Jwala" and was created by writer and artist Anupam Sinha. Dhruva's creator gave him the ability to talk to animals and birds, great agility, skill in martial arts, a very sharp brain and the strongest willpower among humans, enabling him to combat several powerful super-villains, including Grand Master Robo, Chandakaal, Mahamanav, Dhwaniraaj, Chumba, Bauna Vaman etc. When Super commando Dhruva first appeared in comics, superheroes would beat villains using their some super power they had. Dhruva was an exception to this trend. He had no special super powers and fought villains using his sharp brain while making use of things around him.
