About
An original tribute to Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece by the Italian photographer Maurizio Galimberti (born 1956) distinguished himself on the Italian and international art scene thanks to mosaic compositions, works where the subject (a person or portion of city) is taken apart in numerous pictures, often corresponding to different perspectives, and put back together in a faceted image, mathematical in its rigour and musical in its overall harmony. After the famous portraits of world celebrities and photos of the Big Apple, the photographer has tried his hand, image after image, in a solemn encounter/comparison with Leonardo's masterpiece. Maurizio Galimberti has acted with his very original style on Cenacolo, deconstructing it and putting it back together again, reconsidering its size, underlining the splendour and recomposing the masterpiece into a contemporary mosaic.
