About
21-year-old Haitian-American “grimelle” Natasha explores how vodou plays a role in decolonizing western medical practices and ideas of health. Through cut and paste images and words, she examines the lasting trauma of the Transatlantic Slave Trade and anti-black racism and the emphasis on spirit in vodou practices. There are images of eyes, faces, figures dancing, boats, skeletons, and large gatherings of people, and a soundtrack listing. Some of the text is in Kreyol.
