This volume is a sequel to the widely acclaimed Master Artists of the Imperial Mughal Court, discussing Mughal painting through the contributions of outstanding artists. With the discovery of new materials providing key information, and recent research on painters and their royal patrons, the study of Mughal paintings has reached an interesting stage. The roles of individual masters in shaping Mughal style and the functioning of the taswirkhana can now be more precisely delineated.
