"Uganda's population has been growing at a high rate of mor than 3 per cent over the last 30 years mainly due to high fertility, resulting in Uganda's population being one of the youngest populations in the world ... However, the past 15 years have seen the beginning of a decline in the fertility levels signalling the onset of opportunity for turning around the country's development profile to achieve the much desired socio-economic transformation ...
