About
Inventory of the buildings, educational spaces, venues, research stations of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile. The photographer Philippe Blanc crossed the entire national territory to register with his lens the architectural footprint of the University. In the process, which lasted two and a half years, he made more than 10 thousand shots in black and white with two analog cameras, waiting for the perfect moment and light. The result was about a hundred images that are divided into two types. On one side are those of the campuses, among which are Central Campus, Lo Contador and Villarrica, which are composed from the perspective of detail, with the intention of capturing fragments and atmospheres. On the other side are those that represent the future vision of the university, landscapes and the different places for future sites: Las Cruces, Alto Patache, Exploradores Bay, San Carlos de Apoquindo, among others. Includes articles texts by the Vice-Rector of Research, Sol Serrano, and the architects Fernando Perez and Juan Camilo Pardo, who give an account of the future of UC in its architectural and historical context.
