the play, was written by George Washington Pacaud and first produced in 1920..Pacaud was born in 1869, and worked as a theatre critic in chicago, before he returned to Canada where he became chief agent for the New York Plate GLass Insurance Company.. he continued to dabble in the theatre, and in 1907 his play Retribution won first prize in Governor General Earl Grey's drama competition. He lost his shirt in a highly publicised court case in which he was sued by Robert Loraine for breach of contract .. he died in Montreal in 1936.
