After seven years in the Marines, including five deployments to Iraq, Micah Arquette is discharged due to allegations that his sexual orientation doesn't comply with military expectations. Despite PTSD issues, he moves on with his life and claws his way to stability. Micah never anticipated coming across a murder while jogging one morning. He saw the killer's face, and now his life is in danger. Teagan Chandler is an ex-SEAL, and owner of Phoenix Watch, a protective services agency. His brother, Jake Chandler, a detective with the San Diego Police Department, catches Arquette's case and contracts Teagan's services to keep the man safe. Forced into a safe house with Teagan Chandler as his bodyguard, Micah finds himself tumbling back down the PTSD rabbit-hole. He's having flashbacks and nightmares. Micah is also attracted to his sexy bodyguard, and Teagan makes no secret about his desire for Micah. As their relationship heats up, Micah's PTSD spirals out of control, and a killer makes his move.
