Down by the riverside

Down by the Riverside is an independent New Zealand film-noir horror, which tells a story of murder and mystery across two decades. In the early twentieth century, several pregnant girls meet in a country house, where they have been sent to give birth and have their children adopted. The girls are never seen by outsiders again, and the police file is left unsolved. Almost twenty years later, professor Owen Smith (played by Toby Sharpe) and his protoge Amelia Laird (played by Rebecca Trelease) return to the house to research and document the now mythical case. As they explore the house, the quickly discover the disturbing truths, and they will have to fight their way out to stay alive.
