Poetry. Emile Célestin-Mégie (1922-) is a great Creolist, well-known and admired in his native Haiti. He was an official in numerous groups to promote the Creole language such as Mouvement Créole Haïtien (1968), Groupe de Recherches pour l'étude du Créole Haïtien (1977-1979), Zetwal [société coopérative pour l'édition de livres en créole] (1974). He is the author of numerous texts including Lanmou pa gin baryè. Premier epok (1975, novel), Lanmou pa gin baryè. 2èm epok (1977, novel), Lanmou pa gin baryè. 3èm epok (1981, novel), Kèzini (1985, novel), Agasya (2003, novel), Ale-vini Mirak (1946, novel), Lanmou Lasigway (1967, novel). His poetry has appeared in many journals as well as numerous articles on literature, history, education and the Creole language.
