태종이 허조許稠에게 명하여 모든 예문을 갖추고자 조선에서 행하는 전고典故와 중국의 예문을 참작하여 서술한 자료이다. 판심서명은 『왕조길례王朝吉禮』이다. 권1은 ｢왕조길례王朝吉禮｣로서 『세종장헌대왕실록』 권128로 오례五禮에 대하여 기록하고 있으며, 권2는 『세종장헌대왕실록』 권129로 길례의식吉禮儀式에 대하여 기록하고 있다. 본래 4권 2책의 필사본 『왕조길례』로 간행되었는데, 소장본은 절차와 해설 외에 일부 추가․변동된 부분들이 보인다.
