A girl called Chris

A coming of age young adult novel. Chris is a teenage girl counting on a scholarship to go to college, but she doesn't get it. She has to work in a fish factory over the summer to save up money. At first, she is very resentful. But by the end of the summer, she has matured. She realizes how fortunate she is that she only had to work at the cannery for the summer, and that she has a much easier life than the other workers at the factory.
