The organization Middelheim Promotors was formed in 1965 in order to support the Middelheim Museum. To date, through the acquisition of works of art, the publication of art editions and the organization of cultural activities this contemporary patronage provides the museum with a dynamic climate. This book highlights the history and the topicality of the Middelheim Promotors by offering testimonies of some of its founding members and a complete survey of the art- works acquired by - or with support of - the Middelheim Promotors, spanning from Carl Andre to Erwin Wurm. On top of that one will find an illustrated inventory of the circa one hundred prints and objects issued by the Middel- heim Promotors since 1969. This way, the present book will appeal to both lovers of contemporary sculpture and amateurs of graphic art and multiples.
