About
The DMT Diaries is an investigation into the scientific and philosophical implications of the two most powerful hallucinogens known to mankind: N,N-DMT and 5 MeO DMT - and which are also naturally endogenous to the human body. It charts the rise in influence of these tryptamines within popular culture (such as in American stand-up comedy: with advocates like Bill Hicks, Joe Rogan, and Doug Stanhope), as well as the influential psychedelic raconteur Terence McKenna. It explores their relationship with such varied fields as cosmology, quantum mechanics, near-death experience, as well as consciousness research studies (with the pioneering work of Rick Strassman, and the phenomenological trip reports of 5 MeO DMT). The book also examines some of the theoretical models which may illuminate these experiences (like the work of the acclaimed philosopher of science Ervin Laszlo) and attempts to provide an independent overview of this rich and fascinating subject.
