About
The sixth edition contains a new Introduction to the subject which shows the student how the law of banking fits into the general framework of English law. The chapter on bank accounts has been largely rewritten to take account of the recent radical changes in the practice and procedure of the banks in connection with this aspect of their business, and much rewriting has taken place in connection with certain types of account such as those of local authorities, registered companies and solicitors, where there has been recent legislation. A new section on traveller's cheques has been added, ans also has an important new section on credit transfers, incuding Bank Giro; its is believed that this is the first detailed study of the legal aspects of this important service recently introduced by the banks.
