The labour union's Dublin headquarters at Liberty Hall is a place of legend in Ireland. It's location witnessed many significant historical events, and prior to events at the Easter Rising of 1916, Liberty Hall was considered 'the most important building in the city." All of this is central to the union's legacy as it strives for fairness at work and justice in society. In this regard, Peter Ennis' role as Liberty Hall's first caretaker from 1912-1927 is instructive and humbling. Peter's integrity, commitment to the Union and its cause, protective care and concern for its members' Hall, and his sheer physical courage shine through. He is an example to all.
