Publié à l'occasion de l'exposition présentée du 17 septembre 2010 au 2 janvier 2011 en l'église Saint-Pierre de Firminy. Photographe entre Orient et Amériques, Stéphane Herbert a grandi dans l'Unité d'Habitation Le Corbusier à Firminy, près de Saint-Etienne. Depuis une vingtaine d'années, il s'est particulièrement focalisé sur deux capitales de la modernité : Brasília et Chandigarh. L'exposition qu'il propose est un vis-à-vis d'images mettant en perspective la singularité de l'architecture de ces deux villes planifiées dans des pays aux antipodes. Une approche reportage qui place également l'humain dans une relation à la cité. Entre informations et émotions, cette manifestation rappelle que Brasília et Chandigarh sont deux pôles qui relèvent du patrimoine universel.
