About
The author is my wife's grandfather, who entered the Chin Hills in the late 19th century, settled in Hakha and married a Chin chieftain's daughter. The Image of War, subtitled "Service on the Chin Hills", relates stories of the "pacification" campaigns by the British. Although the narrative is of interest, it is the photographic record that makes the book invaluable.
