Up from Polygamy

The book is about the life of Chukwuma, the first son of Okafor's secon wife named Hannah. The book tells the story life in a typical African polygamous family, viz: the relationship between the various wives and their husband; the schemings of the various wives for the better part of their husband's money and property for their siblings; the competition that exists amongst the siblings for success, especially academic success. The book details the life of Chukwuma from the elementary school through college. The book also tells the story of the Nigeria-Biafra conflict from the point of view of a twelve year old boy.
