An unusual novel about decadence and homosexuality, in which the author paints a particularly degrading portrait of “inverts”, exaggerating their supposed characteristic features to the point of caricature, it nevertheless earned the author -and also the publisher- a year in prison and a fine of 2,000 francs for offending public morals. Tells the story of a group of handsome young gentlemen who meet at the Café de la Paix.
