About
Bacon´s production can be summarised into four categories. The first is the religious overtone stemming from his childhood traumas, expressed in his caricatures of the Pope and his crucifixion material. The second is the portraits of his close friends and his self-portraits. The third is the short, let us say trasitional but by no means unimportant, period of his Van Gogh studies. And the fourth is the many scenario pictures by other media such as drama, poetry, film and photography, by rooted nonetheless in the same traumas as the first. The book is a personal study of a painter´s universe.
