Una mirada a los constructores de una ciudad fronteriza

The author explores the forces that shaped a part of the landscape of Ciudad Juárez between the last quarter of the 19th century and the first two decades of the 20th century. Through the study of period data, the importance of those responsible for flood control and irrigation management in the organization of the public works monitored by the Jefatura Política and the Ayuntamiento (City Hall). The book offers new ways of studying technical files, images and unpublished plans of the past, which together propose the relevance of understanding the motivations and intentions of technicians over time. The book suggests rethinking the urbanism of the border north, with an outstanding accumulation of data on engineers, architects, master builders, construction companies and building material depots, which were active for just over forty years.
