"The following is the proceedings of the Second Annual Convention of Turkic American Alliance under the title of "New Challenges & New Opportunities," held on November 30, 2011, in Washington DC. The convention proceedings feature addresses by H.E. Mehmet Simsek, Finance Minister of Turkey, The Honorable Kristen Gillibrand, US Senator of New York, and the Honorable Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, US Representative of Florida. A day-long conference also took place as part of the convention: Panel 1 - Turkey's New Foreign Policy and Its Challenges; Panel 2 - The Future of United States-Turkey Partnership; Panel 3 - Advancing Economic Cooperation between the United States and Turkey; and Panel 4 - Regional Energy Networks and Their Policy Implications. The convention ended with a spectacular gala reception held in celebration of 20 years of independence of the Turkic Republics.
