About
"Sundays were always the preferred day to attend la pulga because it would fill with families wearing their Sunday's best.... Building trust with strangers is difficult but it is extremely rewarding. You cannot fake a connection in a photograph and the chemistry with your subject will always be written in the final image. The brief connections I made with the people I photographed were my favorite part of this labor. Curious conversations, jokes, laughter and joyful exchanges warmed my spirits. It is really important that the people I photograph have a positive experience and understand that it isn't about snagging a photo. That connection needs to be a safespace of consent, trust, and love.
