About
The 25 pendants in this catalogue present a superb picture of the affordable bijoux worn by many modern Parisiennes at the beginning of the 20th century. Horn was already used in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries for combs, buttons, knife handles and other small objects. It is light, durable and easy to fashion. It was not until the Art Nouveau period (1895-1914) however, that the potential of the material was exploited to the full. Most pendants in this ctaalogue were made by Elisabeth Bonté and Georges Pierre, all stemming from a private collection in the Netherlands.
