Storm of Unity

I have written Storm of Unity with one primary purpose . . . to glorify the Lord. Oh yes, there is the element of money but though it would be nice, I am beginning to realize that I personally have been guided by the Spirit of the Lord during the four-plus years of its’ writing. Several times I so identified with the character’s situation and their heartaches as they cried out to God for help and provision that I let the tears flow for them. During the times that I read aloud for my friends, I would break during the reading as the Holy Spirit spoke through the writing of the story. I am not what you would call a “wimp” but rather, I am sensitive, as any committed Christian would be given the circumstances spoken of in the book. In the book, I emphasized true Christian values like older believers being mentors and examples to younger folks. I had new couples praying for guidance and direction of their lives as they were drawn by the Lord to form new families from broken ones from their losses during the opening storm. The Storm of Unity speaks of what God can do with the chaos and pain of loss if given over to Him. Unity is the underlying current of the book that is more or less sublimely shadowing the lives of the characters. Even whenever the settlers encounter the hostility of the extremely warlike Ute Indians, the “Good Samaritan” story is implied but not specifically mentioned. In the same vain, there is a glimpse of what can happen between two peoples whenever God’s Goodness replaces prejudice and old grudges.
