Compilation of unedited critical essays and documents. Concha Meléndez (1895-1983) was an educator, poet, and writer and one of the most distinguished Puerto Rican scholars of the 20th century. She was the first woman to belong to the Puerto Rican Academy of Languages and the first woman to obtain a Doctorate from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1932. She is also the author of Pablo Neruda : poeta del más acá the first scholarly work on the poetry of Pablo Neruda originally published in the Revista Hispánica Moderna in 1936.
