International trade

The promotion of international trade was once considered the sole path to peace between nations. Kant's famous claims in his essay "On Eternal Peace" that the "spirit of trade could not co-exist with war" is echoed in contemporary times by the many voices calling for increased trade between the Western and socialist countries, and the developed and developing countries, as a means of preventing any future major world armed conflagration. This book sets out the general legal and commercial principles applicable to a wide range of forms of international trade. While it is intended as a guide to relevant laws and practices, the book makes no claim to be a definitive treatise on international commercial transactions. Such a comprehensive work would run to many volumes. In order to keep the book to manageable pproportions only the principal legal and practial considerations revelant to the various forms of trade have been covered.
