Église millénaire aux allures de forteresse médiévale, collégiale jusque la Révolution française, Saint-Denis reste, malgré les transformations, un bel exemple de l'art de construire au temps de Notger. À l'intérieur, elle allie de façon étonnante les styles roman, baroque et gothique ; on peut notamment y admirer un superbe retable (début XVIe du siècle), le plus vieux buffet d'orgue de la région (1589), des peintures et des sculptures d'artistes liégeois : Lambert Lombard, Jean Del Cour, Englebert Fisen, Van der Werck, Robert Verburg.
