Ser niño y pobre en la Región Grau

"Presents diagnosis of children under 14 years of age in the northern region (Region Grau) of Peru motivated by a debate regarding a proposed education program. The diagnosis involves not only preschool and elementary education, but also children's nutritional status and health. Focuses on children living in marginal urban areas and working children. Using census and survey data, the author confirms that children from poor families who work are more likely to abandon school, eat poorly, and become ill.
