Admired by Rambach, Franke, Bengel, Delitzsch, Gesenius and the Princetonians, Vitringa's magnum opus was a commentary on Isaiah (1720). After a biography, Telfer analyzes Vitringa's "canones hermeneuticos" alongside his exegetical praxis in Isaiah.
