Skills for Success Student's Book

Skills for Success is the first book that integrates the basics of workplace know-how (the SCANS competencies) in all content and exercises while it prepares students for higher learning by providing academic activities such as writing and summarizing. Theme-based and interactive, Skills for Success focuses on all four language skills within a cooperative-learning framework. The text follows the basic stages of a well organized lesson plan: material is introduced in cycles of preparation, practice, and evaluation that integrate speaking, listening, reading, writing, and some basic math. Within each lesson, the SCANS competencies provide the underpinning for all content and activities in the text.Skills for Success is the first content-based, integrated skills text to use the SCANS competencies to strengthen the connection between ESL classes and employment for vocational or college-bound students.
