Rhythm

Adrian is a musician in a percussion group, he's a bit of an obsessive; music is his life, and he is becoming enamoured with Cara, who is married. An affair looms. Michael is Cara's husband. Hes a psychotherapist and a thinker, a bit of a bore, it seems; he has a difficult client called Vincent, who is stalking him. There's a threat of danger in the air. Cara herself is flattered by Adrian's attentions and is drawn to the music, the dancing and the sheer vitality of the world he inhabits. It's while Cara is telling her story that the novel produces an unexpected twist. A simple story becomes complicated. Violence suddenly explodes, and a big surprise is revealed. Things have definitely not been at all that they seemed.
