About
First time exhibition in Brazil of Cecily Brown (London 1969), currently one of the most celebrated contemporary painters in the world. The exhibition "If paradise were as half as nice" comprises a set of works from the last decade of her career. For the past 15 years Brown has "concatenated different trains of thought that at some point touched the concept of paradise or of visual memories of paintings that represent it. This reverberated in many of her pieces, some of which are present in this exhibition. For Brazilian audience, this is the first opportunity to observe -in a diverse series of works of different shapes, colors, compositions and production dates- the qualities that make Brown's painting so unique." --Page 12.
