Camilla’s mother had been a world famous ballerina, and Camilla herself showed every sign of having inherited all her brilliance. So when she became involved with what her guardian considered a most unsuitable young man, he whisked her into a ballet school in the hope that a distinguished dancing career would make her forget him. In this he soon succeeded - but it was not her dancing, but her ballet mistress’s attractive nephew Vivian Sheppey who speedily drove all thought of Colin out of Camille’s head. But by this time it had become apparent to both her teachers and her guardian that her talent was destined to take her to the top of the ladder.
