Essay on zokiki, a situation in Haiti in which under-aged youth are exploited and allowed to attend special night clubs, drink, take drugs and engage in other illegal activities for under-aged. Zokiki also includes such activities as illegal after-school clubs and "ti sourit" ("little mouse") parties. Zokiki activities increased after the January 12, 2010 earthquake. For many, they are a logical culmination of the disintegration of the cultural, moral and social tissue among Haiti's youth and the lack of organized and government-sponsored leisure activities for youth.
