Universally acclaimed as one of the great artists in the history of the comics medium, Alex Toth elevated virtually every story he drew to a master class on design, graphics, and visual narrative. His well-schooled apprenticeship at mighty CD reached fruition at the lesser known Standard Comics, where over a two-year period Toth produced nearly 400 virtuosic pages (62 stories) in the popular genres of the early 1950s - crime, horror, romance, science fiction, and war.
