Folio. pp. 42, [2], 347, [1] (p. 255 called 154, pp. 304-305 repeated in paging, p. 357 (i.e. p. 359) misnumbered p. 347). Contemporary limp vellum. Engraved initials, headpieces. Title within architectural border with figures and with arms and devices of Cosimo de'Medici. Imprint mostly from colophon. Early ownership inscription of Ludovico Martelli and later bookplates of J.P.R. Lyell and Estelle Doheny. Manuscript notes on title page,  inscription on title page verso "For Mr. Gordon of Invergerdon, Bart." Manuscript note above colophon.  In Greek, with dedication and colophon in Latin.

Editio princeps of the Greek text, based on a manuscript in the Medici library, edited by Pietro Vettori. The text contains forged Greek verse by Aristobulus of Paneas and forgeries of Sophoclean verses by ps-Hecataeus of Abdera, both designed to demonstrate Greek indebtedness to Jewish writers.
