About
"In 2013, Bordeaux Métropole invited artist Suzanne Treister to work on the program for the Garonne Public Art Project which takes the river as its unifying factor and brings together artists in the fabrication of the town, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Communication. The project created by Suzanne Treister is made up of a triptych entitled The Spaceships of Bordeaux and offers an ambitious reflection on the way technology is used in relation to the city and its history. This is expressed through three monumental works located within the Bordeaux Métropole area: The Spaceship, The Well/Jacques Ellul Library, and The Observatory/Science-Fiction Library. This book offers readers texts and drawings by the artist as well as some enlightening contributions that allow for a better understanding of this project full of cultural references."--
