About
The dissertation introduces the results of studies about the body education process inside two communities of remanescentes quilombolas (remaining afroamerican settlements): Brotas (Itatiba-SP) and Praia Grande (Iporanga SP). The research focus was the reflection about the centrality of the body experience in the person formation. In such a way, I associate aspects of the field observation and elements of the bibliographic studies from different areas, such as the cultural anthropology, the performance anthropology, the body theories, the education, the aesthetic. The text reviews consolidated concepts, in order to illuminate them through the body experience observed in field work. In this sense, I introduce the reflection about each community observed, and from that the concept of transformation or change which rules the first part of the final reflection emerges. One of the contributions of the dissertation, in its last reflection, is my first formulation to the concepts of body education, body culture and body memory.
