Eduardo Grossman is an Argentine photographer (born in Buenos Aires on October 5, 1946). He has been working in photography since 1970. He develops his professional activity in the fields of graphic journalism, advertising, cinema, theater and teaching. He worked as a photojournalist in the newspaper Noticias, the magazines Humor Registrado, El Periodista, Editorial Perfil, Man and Elle among others. From 1991 to 2009 he was a photographer and ... graphic editor of the newspaper Clarín. He was cofounder of the photographic agency Sigla in 1974 of brief but decisive existence. In the 80s he participated in the Nucleus of Photographic Authors that brought together many exponents of the expressive renewal that in those years occurred in photography. With the members of the Nucleus and other independent photographers, he held the Buenos Aires - La Plata'88 Photography Contest, the first event of multiple activities around photography with more than thirty exhibitions, seminars, talks and debates, culminating in the Workshop of Photography Journalism La Plata'89.
Since 1981 he has participated in numerous collective exhibitions and his latest individual exhibitions include: Mirrors and Ghosts (Biblioteca Nacional, Buenos Aires, 2005), Gray Viscous Fishes (Recoleta Cultural Center, Buenos Aires, 2000), Flora and Fauna Of San Martín Theater, Buenos Aires, 1996) and Portraits (Museum of Plastic Arts Pompeo Boggio, Chivilcoy, 1995). He made several solo exhibitions and included samples of Argentine and Latin American photography, including those at the Burden Gallery (New York, 1986), the Georges Pompidou Center (Paris, 1983), the Biennial of Caserta (Italy, 1982) and the II Colloquium of Photography (Mexico, 1981). After working as a photographer and graphic editor of the magazine Ñ of the newspaper Clarín, a few years ago Eduardo Grossman stopped working in graphic media and since then he has dedicated himself only to photographing for pleasure, concentrating on his obsessions, reworking his photos. In 2011, two samples exhibited their versatility: on the one hand, 24.10.11 / 2, three decades of images, consisting of black and white portraits of plastic artists made between 1979 and 1999, and the series Concreto, abstract images-detail captured On walks through the La Boca neighborhood, which resemble works by Mark Rothko or Jackson Pollock.
