The Fotofest 2018 Biennial is FotoFest's 17th consecutive international Biennial. The 2018 Biennial focuses on India/Contemporary Photographic and New Media Art. The central exhibition presents the work of 47 artists of Indian origin, working on the subcontinent and across the globe. Through many different viewpoints and a range of approaches including art photography, new media, installation, moving image, journalism, and documentary photography, the exhibition concentrates on the contemporary moment. Themes include caste and class, gender and sexuality, activism and conflict, racism, religion, nationalism, new technologies and development, the environment, human settlement, migration, and integration.
