The Catholic parish of Cappamore is located mostly in the Barony of Owney, County Limerick. It encompasses parts of the civil parishes of Doon and Tuogh. (Tuogh was the former name of Cappamore Catholic Parish.) Townlands in the Doon section are Ballycoshown, Bilboa, Buffanoky, Cappamore, Castlegarde, Clogher, Creehaun, Curraghlahan, Cullenagh, Dark Island, Farnanefranklin, Gortmanna, Gortnagarde, Gortnascarry, Kilduffahoo, Knocknacarriga, Kylegarve, Lacka Beg, Pullagh, Shannaghcloon, and Cloonteen. Townlands in the Tuogh section are Cunnagavale, Dromalta, Dromcluher, Dromsallagh, Killuragh, Pallasbeg, Portnard, Tinnatarriff, Tuogh, Turagh, and the village of Cappamore. This is a general history of the area, with some history of both Catholic and Church of Ireland churches.
