About
A Demand of Blood chronicles the frontier war fought in the shadows of the American Revolution. As southern colonists engaged in rebellion against the Crown, Dragging Canoe, Cherokee warrior and British ally, waged guerilla warfare throughout the southern colonies. In retaliation, patriot powers sent 6,000 militiamen to destroy Cherokee towns. In 1777, Cherokees sued for peace, ceding land their young warriors had fervently fought to regain.
