I have worked with Latino-American immigrant mothers and their youngsters for over fifteen years. A heartbreaking but not unexpected discovery as an infant-parent psychotherapist is that these mothers, who have often arrived here under the most adverse circumstances, do not have a way to tell their children about the hopes that drove their very difficult journey.
