No somos lo que te esperas

"No somos lo que te esperas" (We are not what you expect) is a photobook with collective authorship of four women between 16 and 25 years old. Through analog images ranging from 1995 to 2003, they share their lives in punk communities in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Mexico, Spain and Germany. The edition tells the story behind closed doors and the links with the movements of struggle for Human Rights and individual freedoms such as H.I.J.O.S., the LGTTBIQ+ movement, the unemployed, Correpi (Coordinator against Police and Institutional Repression) and others. The project seeks to interrogate about the past and present of countercultural movements, underground cultures, and provide a different look at the hegemonic representations of punk, the ways of doing politics and the ties of the underground with other social demands.
