About
For ages 3+. A set of 2 books. In the olden times, there were no schools like today. The Rishis used to tell stories to teach people. There were no different subjects, just stories. Thousands of years ago Rishi Valmiki wrote Ramayan, the story of Ram. It was written in seven volumes: bal kand, ayodhya kand, aranya kand, kishkindha kand, sundar kand, yuddha kand and uttar kand. Valmiki's Ramayan is presented here greatly simplified for children, in two colourful pictorial volumes. Other than the free-flowing situational illustrations, all the characters of the story are depicted pictorially all through the text. The child identifies the pictures and reads on. By this see-and-read technique, the children tend to remember the stories better, as the visual memory is always more effective than the rote memory. By the end of the book, the child would have read and understood the entire Ramayan.
