Es una monografía municipal del municipio mexiquense de Huehuetoca; pertenece a la primera serie de trabajos de este tipo que ordenó escribir el Gobierno del Estado de México en 1971 y que se extendió hasta 1975. Las monografías de esta serie tienen un solo autor, un tal Carlos Héctor González, que seguramente es un pseudónimo del entonces gobernador carlos Hank González. Debido a que en su elaboración se usaron fuentes exclusivamente bibliográficas, y entre ellas solo compendioc, revisiones y sinopsis de obras originales, los datos históricos son escasos e imprecisos. Por otra parte, los datos estadísticos son de alguna utilidad, pero igual pueden encontrarse en publicaciones estatales.
