About
"The Art of Voice Acting" was first published in November, 1998 and has an update cycle of approximately four years. At the time of this post (2018), the book is in preparation for the 6th edition scheduled for publication in March, 2019. Originally published by Focal Press, the current publisher is Routledge, a division of Taylor and Francis Publishing. The first edition was 235 pages and the 6th edition will be over 500 pages and is used as a major university textbook. Each new edition fully updates the voiceover business trends, performing techniques and business concepts. The book includes dozens of performing techniques, a comprehensive discussion on the business of voiceover and scripts in several major genre of voiceover. It also includes contributions from many voiceover professionals. A website of supplemental content is available at AOVA.VoiceActing.com.
