About
Book contains around 1000 lithographs of current furniture designs (1875). The majority were drawn by G H Loveland. It is a largely unknown publication that was to have huge significance to furniture design in the last quarter of the 19th century. The designs were commonly repeated in other publications by Wymans, particularly in their 'The Furniture Gazette' and also copied without attribution in numerous cabinetmakers trade catalogues throughout the Brish Empire. Only two copies are now known. One of these is incomplete and was found in Christchurch New Zealand, the other includes the Liverpool firm A.Blain & Sons on the cover title.
